A series of 3 negatives taken for the Ministry of Works showing a view over Hampstead and unidentified housing within the locality. A fourth negative within this set shows what appears to be an office or training centre. This negative is un-numbered but is housed within an envelope which duplicates one of the original numbers already used within this series (273/3). It has been allocated the number P/H00273/003A.
The Ministry of Works was the government department responsible for ensuring that post-war housing construction addressed the acute housing shortages in the years following the Second World War. This was achieved through the use of prefabricated, modular housing as well as traditional and modern brick methods of construction.
The original Ministry of Works storage envelope lists the operator as “E” and the division as “M.O.H".
This is part of the Sub Series: PSA01/04/H Housing; within the Series: PSA01/04 Negatives; within the Collection: PSA01 Property Services Agency
