TQ 2881 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER WIMPOLE STREET, W1 45/100 (East side) 5.2.70 No 23 G.V. II Terraced town house, c1770 Portland Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; slate roof. 4 storeys and basement. 3-window wide astylar front. Semicircular arched doorway to right; panelled doorway with rosette decorated doorhead under fanlight. Recessed sashes with glazing bars intact to ground floor, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Stucco string over ground floor stuccowork. Parapet with coping. Late C19 cast iron balcony across 1st floor. Tasselled spearhead finials to area railings. Interior retains stone staircase with wrought iron scrolled balustrade and some plasterwork, carved and statuary marble chimneypieces; etc.
