GV II

Lodging house; now four dwellings. c1820; converted and altered 1968. Gault brick; slate hipped roofs with brick stacks irregularly disposed. EXTERIOR: 2 and 3 storeys on basement; 4-window front with 2-bay centrepiece, advanced right bay, recessed left bay. Centrepiece has two ground-floor French windows set beneath stuccoed tympani and opening onto balustraded balcony over basement. Balcony of cast-iron with quatrefoil decoration. First floor has two 2/2 horned sashes in stuccoed surrounds.

Flat plain parapet partly conceals hipped roof. Advanced bay to right has doorway in return opening onto balcony. One 2/2 horned sash to basement, two similar to ground floor and one similar sash to first floor, all under stuccoed skewback arches. Plain parapet with ball finials at corners conceals low roof.

Recessed bay to left rises to third storey and has panelled door, and one horned sash without glazing bars to each floor above. Each floor with platbands decorated with Greek key ornament, returned at the ends. Plain parapet conceals roof.

INTERIOR: rear part only inspected. No features of particular interest noted. Building undergoing renovation at time of review.
