ASHREIGNEY ASHREIGNEY SS 61 SW 6/20 Nos.1 and 2 Rose Cottages II Pair of cottages. C18 with C20 addition and modernisation. Rendered and plastered cob and rubble walls. Hipped thatch roof. Central brick axial stack.
Plan: pair of mirror image 2-room plan cottages, the larger inner room of each heated by the central axial stack and with an unheated service room on the outside.
C20 leanto built at left-hand end of No.1.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Almost symmetrical 4-window front of early to mid C20 2-light casements. Early C20 gabled porches to left and right of centre - that to No.1 to left has C20 plank door, that to No.2 has part-glazed door. C20 leanto to No.1 against left-hand end.
Interior: No.2 inaccessible at time of survey. No.1 exhibits no early features but these may have been concealed by early C20 modernisation.
