CRANWORTH TF 90 SE 9/1 Church of St.Mary 30.5.60 - I Parish church. Medieval and later. Flint with ashlar dressings. Lead and slate roofs with weatherboarded spire. West tower; aisled nave with north porch and storeroom to south; chancel with vestry to north. C13 and C14 unbuttressed west tower with stair turret to south. 2-light Y-traceried west window with carved label stops. Quatrefoil sound holes to north and west. 2-light C14 bell openings with foiled soufflets. Crenellated parapet and a short octagonal spire. C14 north aisle with a 3-light east window displaying a pair of mouchettes and a dagger. 3 contemporary 2-light north windows with carved head label stops. 2-light cusped Y-traceried west window.

Victorian south aisle in exact imitation of north aisle. Chancel with one 2-light Decorated window to north with soufflet and 2-light cusped Y-traceried south windows. Cusped lancet window to south with a transom delimiting a now blocked opening to lower quarter. Victorian north porch in Perpendicular style. Moulded C14 north doorway with impressive carved head label stops.

Modern timber framed store room to south with flint infill. Simple C14 moulded south doorway. Interior. 4-bay nave with C14 quatrefoil piers supporting wave-moulded arches to north. South arcade in imitation. Plain chamfered tower arch supported on carved head corbels. Wave-moulded chancel arch with similar corbels. Double piscina and rebuilt triple sedilia in chancel. Original cusped arches to piscinae with geometric spandrel motif.

C14 ogee headed and cusped tomb recess in north aisle. Very fine Neo- Classical and Baroque wall monuments to Gurdon family in both aisles. Plain C14 octagonal font.
