8/179 The Old Post Office and adjacent outbuildings

GV II

House, probably late C18. Squared stone, tooled and margined quoins and dressings; slate roof, stone slates on rear outshut and outbuildings. 2 storeys, 2 wide bays. Central renewed door with overlight in open porch with circular stone piers. 12-pane sash windows. All openings have alternating jambs. Stepped stacks rebuilt in yellow brick. Single-storey range of outbuildings to right rear now partly in domestic use, with 2 elliptical-arched cart entrances, one blocked, and a boarded door flanked by small windows. End section with slate roof not of interest. Corniced stone ridge stack, right end brick stack. Left rear outbuilding range shows several sash windows including one old sliding sash.
