MELTON OLD CHURCH LANE TM 25 SE 1/17 The Old Mill House GV II

House and disused water mill attached. Late C17/early C18 core. Timber framed with early C19 red brick face. L plan formed by cross wing and attached, disused water-mill in colour washed brick. Plain tiled hipped roofs. Red brick stacks. 2 storeys. West facade has scattered fenestration: sashes in recessed frames with glazing bars, blind boxes and gauged brick arches; a gable at right angles to main range has late C19 canted oriel window at first floor; mullion and transome casements with glazing bars. To west facade also a doorway with Ionic pilasters and entablature with 6 fielded panelled door with elliptical fanlight with radial glazing bars. The garden facade has 3 window range: sashes in recessed frames with glazing bars and gauged brick arches; this facade has a central doorway with Ionic pilasters and heavily moulded semi circular arch with key-stone; there is a 6 fielded panelled door (the upper panels glazed) and a semi-circular fanlight with Adam type glazing bars.
