GV II

House, late C16 or early C17. Timber-framed with ashlared plaster front and brick facing on NW flank. Gabled concrete roof at right-angles to street, behind high plain parapet. Black weatherboarded rear and part flank, stack through rear roof slope. 2 storeys with attic. Front has double-hung sash window with margin-glazing on each floor, entrance door with 6 panels, the top 2 glazed, others with prominent moulded frames. Small 2-bay cross-wing of good quality framing, contemporary attic floor, extra narrow bay at rear possibly for stack. INTERIOR: posts jowled, top plates, bridging joists are stop-chamfered. Early C19 panelled partition to stairway.
