Farmhouse, c 1600, 2 storeys, timber framed and plastered. Peg tile roof, gabled at NE and hipped over a crosswing at the SW and returns to a gable at the rear. Rear has 2 gabled staircase towers and a kitchen-like single storey, attached block, with part flint walling. The plan form is of the 'baffle entry' type, but with a wide tunnel through the chimney stack forming a cross passage. The SW crosswing is fully articulated in structure. Front has many old cast iron casements with leaded lights, 2 open, gabled C19 porches with peg tiles. Off-centre stack is contemporary and has four square detached shafts conjoined at head. One stairtower has original newel post and finial and arched head at ground floor entrance. The side purlin and clasped collar roof makes use of remnants of an earlier crown post roof'.
