5/33 Fountain and urns approximately 90 metres to west of Brodsworth Hall

GV II

Fountain and urns. 1866-67 for Charles Thellusson. Marble. Fountain and octagonal pool set on axis of west front within formal"garden which has large urns at each corner approximately 30 metres from fountain. Moulded ashlar dwarf wall forms pool rim. Central fountain has moulded base and shaft decorated with carved dolphins; 3 tiers in the form of scalloped shells; bird finial with upthrust beak. Large freestanding urns have gadrooned bases and broad rims.

Account books cited by Girouard (p.876) note a consignment in 1867 of "..marble steps and figures and Fountain vase in Pleasure grounds".
