SX 47 NW SYDENHAM DAMEREL TOWNLAKE
12/321 Wooda Farmhouse - II
Farmhouse. Now 2 properties. Probably C16 origins, C19 remodelling, C20 addition at right end. Stone rubble, colourwashed and rendered, slate roof half-hipped at left end, gabled at right end. 2 rear lateral stacks. Original plan probably 3-room and through passage, the lower end room converted for use as a byre at one time. In the C19 the present stair was probably inserted in the passage. In the late C20 an addition at the right end provided a total of 4 rooms and the house was divided into 2 properties, each 2-rooms wide. 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front with C20 gabled porch on the front at the left. 2-, 3- and 4-light casement windows with glazing bars.
Interior The former hall has chamfered stopped joists and a large fireplace with a replaced lintel. The lower end room has 2 circa C17 2-light timber mullioned windows in the left-hand wall with a ventilation slit between them. Pegged roof trusses.
