TQ3184SE ALWYNE VILLAS 635-1/53/23 (East side) Nos.10 AND 12 and attached railings
GV II
Semi-detached houses. c.1850. Developed, and probably designed, by James Wagstaffe. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond with dressings of stucco, roof of slate. Two storeys over basement with dormers in attic, two windows each. Basement stuccoed and scored as ashlar. Steps up to entrnace in single-storey porch set back to side: flat-arched entrance with pilasters, overlight, panelled door of original design, entablature and blocking course. Ground- and first-floor windows flat-arched with stucco architraves, those to first floor with cornice on consoles; brick string course below boxed eaves; one full dormer to each house with segmental-arch window and gabled; stacks to party wall. Cast-iron railings to area. (Historians' file, English Heritage London Division).
