EAST HUNTSPILL CP NEW ROAD (South side) ST34NW 2/36 New Road Farmhouse - - II

Farmhouse. Mid C18, late Cl8/early C19 alteration. Colourwashed Flemish bond local brick, raised verges, double Roman and plain tile roofs, C19 box dormer, brick stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays, attic, projecting first floor band, 16-pane sash windows, brick voussoirs, emphasised stone keys. Central door opening, 6-panelled door, top 4 panels glazed, gabled brick porch, Single bay outshut to each side, lower height, 2-light casements with brick voussoirs, glazing bars. Rear elevation with slate roof and catslide. Front elevation with evidence of blocked former window openings. Interior with features of interest including panelled doors, chimney pieces and remains of early staircase with splat balusters. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, April 1984).
