House. c1830, altered. Coursed and squared stone with hipped slate roof. Square double fronted plan with single-storey side wings. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3-window range with central entrance. 8-panelled door (renewed) with traceried fanlight in moulded architrave. wedge lintels to windows, the sashes replaced by pivoting windows. Side-wall chimney to right. Paired gutter brackets. Single storey, one-window side wing extensions, each with hipped roof, to each side. INTERIOR: not inspected. The house forms part of the model village of Barrow Bridge, established in 1831 by Robert Gardner to serve the new Dean Mills which he also built.
