Designed by Thomas Harrison of Chester in 1812, probably for Peter Marsland, a cotton manufacturer. 2 storeys in ashlar with slate roof. Plinth. The main block has 3 windows to each front, hung sashes with glazing bars, band at cills. 2 windows of 3 lights on ground floor with segmental-headed tympana.

The entrance front has a hexastyle portico in Greek Ionic and double doors of 8 fielded panels under rectangular glazed fanlight. The return front has an panels under rectangular glazed fanlight. The return front has an attached colonnade along the whole front on the ground floor. Recessed service wing of 2 storeys to left with 3:1 windows, band continues cills. Interior - good central staircase and entrance hall.
