Description

BISHOPS WALTHAM FREE STREET SU 55 17 9/6 Lithend II House. C18, with late C19 alterations and minor additions. Walls of brickwork in Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches, stone cills. Hipped tile roof, brick dentil eaves. Building of three phases, a main block of the late C18, with a lower wing to the south side of earlier date, and a Victorian single-storied north wing.

West front elevation of 1.2.2 storeys, 2.2.1 windows. Sashes in reveals, with narrow Victorian sashes to the north wing (the doorway between them is now filled).

Classical doorcase, with late C18 arched opening with radiating fanlight above a 6-panelled door, and a late C19 open pediment on heavy ornamental brackets. The rear elevation shows the south side of three storeys and the main part of two, 1.2 windows: sashes, plain doorway within a trellis porch.
