WORSLEY WORSLEY ROAD SD 70 SE (south side) 2/68 Nos. 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 The Crescent and adjoining garden walls (formerly listed 29/7/66 with Nos. 21 and 23) G.V. II

5 houses. 1760s. Rendered brick with graduated slate roof.

Row of houses each with 2 bays and 2 storeys. Each has an off-centre door, all C20 replacements, and 3 have later gabled porches. To either side of the door and on each floor the houses have 3-light multi-pane leaded casements under segmental arches. The leaded lights have been removed in No.

13 and the windows completely replaced by C20 casements in Nos. 11 and 15. Total of 6 rendered ridge chimney stacks.

Various small additions to rear. The front gardens are surrounded by hammer-dressed stone walls with round-topped copings which adjoin the houses. The group of houses is reported as having been built by the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater for his canal operatives and workers.
