4/220 Mymms Hall 20.5.49 Farmhouse (Formerly listed as Mymms Hall) GV II

House, now 2 dwellings. Early C16 origins. Extended C17. Refronted and much altered C18 and C19. Timber frame, brick casing, tiled roof. Half H plan: apparent hall with crosswings with extension to rear right. 2 storeys with attics in wings. Front: 4 bay central range. Entrance 2nd bay from right with Tuscan porch. Ground floor: canted bay with crenellated parapet to right, two French windows to left, first floor sashes with cambered heads. Bargeboarded gables over wings with 2 lower roofs over main range. Large cement rendered axial ridge stack to centre with 2 diagonally set shafts. C17 extension to rear right. Fronted with stock bricks, rat trap bonded. Tiled roof with separate ridge. 2 storeys. 4 unequally spaced bays. Central entrance. Glazing bar sashes with cambered heads. Large axial ridge stack to right of centre with 4 diagonally set shafts. Stack at junction with main range. Lower 2 storey extension to far right with lean-to addition. To rear of this wing are an entrance under a porch and 2 Yorkshire casements. Left and longer crosswing of main range is the small C16 house, refronted and altered.

Cross axial ridge stack and rear gable end external stack. Interior: C16 cambered tie beam exposed on front wall of left crosswing. Clasped purlin roof with queen struts. Jowled posts. Chimney inserted late C16/early C17. Extension to rear right with roof of similar construction, largely rebuilt. Two arms of Homestead Moat to S. (RCHM Typescript).
