YATTON C.P. NORTH END (north east side) ST 46 NW 5/179 Oldeacre - II Farmhouse, now house. Early C16 origin, extended to left for dairy and to right soon after original build, early C18 rear wing, C20 alterations and additions.

Rubble, rendered, formerly thatched, double Roman tiled roof with crestings, ridge and gable stacks, some pantiles. Lobby-entry plan, rear wing forms T-plan.

1 1/2 storeys and 4 bays, ground floor has 5 C20 2-light casements of different sizes, casement in front of ridge stack formerly has gabled porch, single storey C20 porch to right with door and single light; 3 gables above, below roof ridge height, to 3 bays to right, with pierced bargeboards, each with 2-light casement; buttress to right of former door; when render was removed, straight joints were visible to each side of 2 centre rooms. Left return has 2 small openings to either side of stack, with pierced stonework for ventilation to former dairy, 2-light casement at first floor in place of former flue. Right return has 3 single lights at ground floor, single attic light, lean-to to rear. Rear has catslide roof to ground floor level and 2-storey rear wing attached to 2nd room from right; single storey pantiled lean-to to side with glazed doors and three 4-pane sashes. Rear of main range to right has ground floor 2-light casement to right, blocked upper window to centre and small 2-light casement to left under eaves; single storey flat-roofed C20 addition in angle with rear wing with plate-glass window and glazed door; rear wing has on inner side two 2-light casements at first floor, one at ground floor, 2 single lights at attic level in gable end. Interior: former lobby entry to side of stack, room to right has wide fireplace with heavy cambered chamfered and scroll-stopped lintel, oven recess to right, C19 mantel shelf; possible site of former stair to rear of room, fine framed ceiling in 4 panels with deep-chamfered beams; moulded doorframes to each side of lobby entry, door to room to left of 2 raised panels with latch, room also has very deep-chamfered beams with step stops, battered walls, to front left newel stair behind door; wall to end dairy room removed, 2 wide steps down to dairy. Room to end right also has one deep-chamfered beam remaining visible, others boxed or renewed. 2 doors at rear wing both have C17 carving in top panels, one with shields, the other with cherubs' heads. At first floor, roof much renewed, room to right of ridge stack has stepped stack and cupboard door to right, possibly former site of stair, 2 bays, principal rafters and one row of purlins visible, collar at floor level and upper collar with strut at partition wall to end room to right. Room to left of stack also of 2 bays, principal rafters and one row of purlins, further 2-panelled door to room over dairy. Straight stair set laterally in rear wing with panelled woodwork at landing.
