LITTLE LUMLEY LUMLEY PARK NZ 25 SE 4/45 Sundial 20 metres west of Lumley Castle II

Sundial on a column with pedestal. Sandstone sundial dated 1716; later white marble column and pedestal.

Corniced pedestal has cyma-moulded plinth and die with raised border and circle on each face. 2.0-metre high Tuscan column. Polyhedric sundial in the form of a sphere with 24 faceted faces: each face has incised letters and an iron gnomon; 2 of the square faces are dated 1716. Crowning vase with gadrooned top and small pineapple finial.
