1/67 Church cross in churchyard of St James' Church

Churchyard cross, possibly C15. Ham stone. The base remains in position a few metres from the South Transept, with the socket only 100mm above the soil, and somewhat worn. Shaft about 1.5 metres high, 325mm square at base; upper part octagonal, the chamfers simply terminated. (The head of the cross, with three figures, much worn, stored in glass case in the church). (Pooley, C; 'Old Crosses of Somerset' C1877).
