Description

Darenth School was founded by the Metropolitan Asylums Board in 1878, catering for 500 children with learning disabilities. By 1911 it was known as the 'Darenth Industrial Trading Colony', whose residents were trained in food production and the manufacture of everday goods. It was later renamed the Darenth Park Hospital. The equipment shown here was manufactured by the Paterson Engineering Company Ltd., specialists in water treatment and purification plant.
