The Golgotha at St Andrew's Church is unique, having survived the Reformation. Now in two separate pieces measuring 7 feet and 6 feet in length, and both 3 feet thick, it features carvings skulls and bones strewn amongst rocks. It is suggested that the Golgotha was hung above the rood screen and formed the foundations of the rood, as the mortise holes for the crosses are clearly cut. It was likely removed from the church in 1549 and was cut into two pieces, which are said to have remained in the churchyard.
