The choir stalls of St Mary's Church feature 20 medieval misericords dating from the late 14th century. It is suggested that this misericord, in the tenth stall from the west on the north side of the choir, may depict King Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart or Richard Coeur de Lion, rather than Samson.
