Description

The collection consists of thirty-seven large format panoramic glass plate negatives, deposited with the Archive by the Cobtree Museum of Kent Life in 1992.

The original provenance of the negatives is not known, although it is possible that they may be linked to the photographic company Lee of Portrush, but it is not currently clear whether this firm created such large format negatives.

The images show a mixture of seaside, tourist, coastal, agricultural and landscape scenes, with locations including Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Harrogate, Lincoln, Hereford, York, Scotland and Ireland. They date approximately from the period 1880 - 1920.
