Ruins of Broomholm Priory, Abbey Street, Bacton - North Norfolk
Broomholm Priory was founded in 1113 as a Cluniac community. The priory rose from a provincial monastery to a national pilgrimage site due to its acquisition of what was claimed to be a fragment of the True Cross. Works underway, started in 2018, with funding from Historic England to conserve the gatehouse, north transept and parts of the chapterhouse and dormitory.
