West stable at Shireoaks Hall, Thorpe Lane, Shireoaks - Bassetlaw

Early C18 stable and outbuildings, possibly by Sir Thomas Hewitt, located to north west of the Hall, and set in C17 and early C18 formal landscape. A pair to the East Stable. There are many slipped, broken and displaced roof slates. Past slate repairs are now failing; the north ridge is missing; rainwater disposal is problematic, and the building is shrouded in vegetation. Historic England has encouraged the local authority to consider options to secure this site in recent years, but we are not aware of any action having been taken.
