Church of St Edmund, Back Street, Castleton, High Peak - High Peak

C12 parish church with later fabric. Rainwater disposal is problematic; there are large damp patches internally, blocked drains and significant condensation. Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a grant to re-cover the nave roof in c1996. Further funds were awarded in 2010 for remedial work. The church continues to suffer on account of defects in the rainwater disposal system. An application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund was unsuccessful in 2013. The church had since raised funds, but progress has stalled.
