The 'Wow Factor' of Wentworth Woodhouse

Historic England is overseeing spending of a £7.6 million grant funding emergency repairs at Wentworth Woodhouse. Working together with the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust we hope to secure a sustainable future for this exceptional building.

Wentworth Woodhouse is a Grade I listed country house in South Yorkshire, with the longest façade of any country house in England. It's an exceptional building in its sheer size and architectural beauty as well as in the lives and stories associated with it. Its succession of owners and its changing uses have hugely influenced the local community, who have a deep and enduring relationship with this place.

In November 2016, the Government announced a grant of £7.6 million to fund emergency repairs at Wentworth Woodhouse. Historic England is overseeing the grant and working with the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust to help secure a sustainable future for the house for the benefit of the surrounding area.
