The Priest's House, The Village, Prestbury, Cheshire

Exterior view of the Priest's House on The Village. This timber framed building was once a vicarage then cottages and later a bank. It dates back to the 16th century, but was altered a lot in the 17th century. In 1708 it was replaced as the vicarage by the local Manor House. It was restored in 1968-70. During the restoration 2 cast iron firebacks were discovered, one is dated 1635 and with the coat-of-arms of Charles I, and the other is late 17th/early 18th century and of Dutch origin.
