Paulinus Cross, Masham, North Yorkshire

This cross was made in the late 8th or early 9th century. The little detail that now remains shows that it depicted Biblical scenes. It resembles early Christian Eastern Mediterranean monuments such as the Ciboricum of Saint Marks in Venice.
