Former Hydraulic Power Station, Water Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester

This Hydraulic power generating station was built in 1907-9. It was one of 3 built as part of system for supplying hydraulic power to the lifts and hoists of the commercial warehouses in the city centre. It continued in use until 1972. It is a very unusual survival of this type of building.
