Council housing, Victoria Buildings, Manchester, Greater Manchester

Victoria Buildings in Sherratt Street was the first council housing in Manchester. It was built as a tenement block in 1889. It was designed by Henry Spalding and A.W.Cross for Manchester Corporation. The flats were arranged around a courtyard surrounded by balconies with prominent curving supports to the railings.
