Blacksmith's Shop, Chatton, Northumberland

This blacksmith's shop and forge were built in the early 1800s. At this time most villages and all towns would have had at least one blacksmiths. The windows in this building are typical blacksmith's windows. They have thin, narrowly set vertical iron glazing bars.
