Asfordby Mine, Asfordby, Leicestershire
The sinking of shafts at this mine commenced in 1986, although it was several years before the site started to produce coal. To the right of the picture can be seen the shrubs, planted as part of an environmental effort to produce a screen of vegetation around the works.
