Annfield Plain Public Library, Stanley, Durham

This public lending library dates from 1908. It was designed in a Baroque style by Edward Cratney of Davidson and Cratney and built by Southsen and Johnson, contractors. The land was given by John Wilkinson Taylor, M.P. The library was paid for by Andrew Carnegie who gave money to found many libraries.
