GV II

Almshouses. Early C19. Coursed squared limestone; stone slate roof; three ashlar and one rendered ridge and end stacks. 2-storey 10-window range. First floor has six 2-light chamfered stone mullion windows with C20 metal casements in slightly splayed reveals with stone cills; four similar blind windows without mullions. Ground floor has 6 similar 2-light windows and six C20 half-glazed doors. Shallow plinth; moulded string over ground floor. Recessed ashlar panel in chamfered stone surround to first floor centre has incised lettering THESE ALMSHOUSES/ WERE RE-ENDOWED BY/ WILLIAM LENNOX EARL BATHURST/ IN MEMORY OF HIS SISTER/ THE LADY GEORGINA L BATHURST/ DECEASED 27 MARCH 1874. INTERIORS not inspected.
