1414 sheets dating from the late nineteenth century to the early twenty-first century. Many have a former archive number, prefix HPSE (Historic Plans South East).
The file includes artworks, computer generated plots, maps, measured drawings and surveys, photogrammetric surveys, rectified photographs, sketches and tables.
The earliest sheets include design and architectural drawings, with a number of drawings relating to drainage and sewerage. From the 1920s there are plans relating to the house's use as a convalescent home, including the installation of a physiotherapy pool in the late 1940s.
Drawings from the late twentieth century concentrate on the estate's conversion from convalescent home to visitor centre and most are concerned with change of use for site buildings such as New Barn Cottage and the stable block.
There are nine survey sheets dating from 1983 which comprise Royal Parks Historic Survey of the Osborne Estate.
There are also a large number relating to refurbishment, repair and restoration of estate buildings, notably the Swiss Cottage and the convalescent home, and to the installation of fire detection and security systems. A large number of sheets from the late 1990s relate to landscaping and landscape restoration issues. Also, a number of survey drawings are included, from the early twenty-first century.
