AUSTWICK GRAYSTONBER LANE SD 76 NE (east side) 8/14 The Knoll GV II Formerly 2 cottages, now one house. Late C17, converted in 1890s. Slobbered rubble, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Three rooms plus outshut. Entrance right of centre has chamfered surround, C20 gabled slate hood; 1890s door. 3 windows to left on ground floor: C17 3-light chamfered mullion, sashes and fixed lights; single-light, sashes with glazing bars in former entrance: 2-light double chamfered window with cavetto mullion; leaded lights. Above this last window is copper sundial inscribed 1693 which was positioned in the 1890s. To the right of the entrance on the ground floor is a large 1890s 4-light cavetto mullioned window, leaded casements. 3 windows on upper floor, 2 right-hand ones have chamfered surrounds; casements. Gable end and right of centre ridge stack.
