WITTON GILBERT B 6532 NZ 24 NW (West side) 1/49 Well House circa 20 metres south of Fyndoune Mews GV II

Well house. Probably early C20, incorporating earlier well. Timber frame with rendered nogging on ashlar plinth; pantiled roof with decorative ridge tiles.

One storey, one bay. Central door with diagonal boarding in 2 lower panels and open latticework in upper half, flanked by square panels with diagonal bracing. Diagonal boarding over door under projecting gable with bargeboards.

Roof has spiral terra-cotta finials. Returns have square panelling with diagonal bracing in upper panels.

Interior shows fluted cast-iron pump; owner reports brick-lined yell now covered.
