Farmhouse. Possibly C16 origins, early C17 improvements, a major late C17-early C18 refurbishment and dairy added in C19. Plastered cob on rubble footings; stone rubble stacks all with circa 1984 brick tops; thatch roof.

House may be derived from C16 3-room-and-through-passage plan original, facing north with inner room at right (west) end, but early layout is obscured by later alterations. Main house has 3-room plan and lobby entrance left of centre. Axial service stack may block former passage. Lateral stack projecting to rear of hall and end stack to inner room. Inner room is possibly an C18 extension. C19 lean-to dairy on left (east) end. 2 storeys with storage basement under inner room.

Irregular 4-window front has a tripartite sash with central 12-pane sash at right end to inner room and a 12-pane (4/8) to chamber above. The rest are various C19 casements with glazing bars. The doorway is left of centre and has an early C17 oak frame with ovolo-hollow chamfer moulded surround and worn away stops. It contains a contemporary plank door with ovolo-moulded coverstrips making a 12-panel front. It is sheltered by a late C19 timber gabled porch with trellis-work sides, open>work spandrels and shaped bargeboards, now with corrugated iron roof. Main roof is hipped to right and half-hipped to left. On the rear the hall window alongside the stack appears to be blocking an early C17 oak doorframe with a similar moulding to the front doorframe.

Interior: shows mainly late C17-early C18 features. All the rooms have plainly @flW crossbeams; the service room beam is square in section with upended plank joists, the hall beam is chamfered, and the inner room is probably a C19 replacement. The basement has a chamfered and runout stopped crossbeam. All the original fireplaces are blocked. The hall includes some C17 oak small-field panelling, probably reset. Roof of A-frame trusses with pegged lap-jointed collars.
