-- II*
Farmhouse. Early C15 with C16 addition to right of stack. Timber framed and plastered except for the rear wall which is weatherboarded. The front has C20 widely-spaced applied studding. Pantiled roof. 1 storeys. 4 windows, C19 and C20 casements. Plank door. 2 small gabled dormers. Internal stack.
Against the left gable end a lean-to addition and a small stack. A former open hall house, one end of which (probably the solar end) was rebuilt in C16 when the stack was inserted. 2-bay open hall with original heavily sooted queen-post roof with a ridge piece; the queen-posts are of cross-quadrate section. There are 2 additional tie beams in what is probably the lower bay of the hall, but no evidence for them in the upper bay. C16 inserted ceiling has bridging beam with solid arched braces to the wall posts and chamfered joists with run-out stops. Hall fireplace has a good moulded and embattled lintol. C16 addition has chamfered-joist ground floor ceiling. C16 newel stairs.
