6/164 Green Farmhouse - -- II

Farmhouse. Early-mid C16 with early C17 stack and parlour addition. C16 section heightened about lm, in C19. Timber framed and plastered with pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. Scattered fenestration: C18-C19 casements. 2 boarded doors. Internal stack with rebuilt plain shaft.

C16 section in 2 bays, comprising the service end and one bay of the hall.

Earlier half of hall has re-set C16 joists. Exposed first floor framing with reversed braces; blocked diamond-mullioned window in service chamber. Parlour has chamfered-joist ceiling; parlour chamber has intact studding with reversed braces. Roof over parlour cell has stepped diminished butt purlins and arched wind-bracing. Newel stairs, the upper flight original. Some early internal doors.
