TQ 2880 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER UPPER GROSVENOR 68/51 STREET, Wl 5.2.70 No. 9 G.V. II Terraced town house. 1730-31, top floor and mansard C.19. Darkened brick with rusticated stucco faced ground floor, slate roof. 4 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 3 windows wide. Entrance to right with projecting Grecian Doric portico-porch, segmental arched doorway with 6-panel door and side lights under fanlight. Recessed glazing bar sashes under segmental red brick arches and with red brick dressings. Brick plat band to 1st floor, parapet with coping. 1st floor early C.19 geometric pattern cast iron balcony. Cast iron area railings with foliated spear head finials. Interior retains a number of original features with panelling substantially intact on ground and 1st floors; 1960s staircase has reset C.18 wrought iron balustrade.

The small enclosed courtyard to the rear has its walls decorated with Doulton ceramic panels designed by the sculptor Gilbert Bayes probably installed in 1928.
