House and shop. Early C18 house refronted mid C19; mid C19 shop. C20 render to front, limestone rubble to right return and rear, painted ashlar front to English-bond brick shop; crested pantile roof with brick stack to right gable end. 2-unit plan with rear service wing to the left and one-storey shop attached to right. 2 storeys with attic; symmetrical 3-window range. Windows are flat-arched C19 horned plate-glass sashes with margin panes, that over the central door has a semicircular top pane with engraved red margin panes, the others are paired. The C19 door is stripped pine with 6 panels, probably repositioned. The 2-storey rubblestone rear wing is 2-window range with similar crested pantile roof and brick ridge stack. A blocked window in the apex of the rear gable end has a stone architrave. Openings in the side have timber lintels. The single-storey former butcher's shop has a coped ashlar parapet. To the right, a large 3/3-pane horned sash shop window has a moulded fascia with consoles, panelled pilasters and a bracketed cill. The restored C19 door has a large pierced cast-iron overlight. INTERIOR: a stone-flagged possibly former through-passage, now blocked to the rear, leads to the stone-flagged kitchen wing which has a chamfered axial beam to the ground floor. The room to the front left has a cupboard with early C18 raised and fielded panels to the left of the chimney breast; the room to the front right has recesses with early C18 shaped shelves and moulded architraves flanking a late C19 fireplace. The attic has exposed trenched purlins to C18 roof.
