EAST HUNTSPILL CP NEW ROAD (South side) ST34NW HACKNESS 2/35 Hackney Farmhouse with attached outbuilding and wall - - II
Farmhouse. Mid C18. Flemish bond local brick, raised verges, brick stacks, slate roof. Two storeys, 5 bays, projecting brick band at first floor level; 2-light mullioned casements with transoms, glazing bars. Door opening between third and fourth bays, panelled door, gabled brick porch with a raised verge. Lower height wing to left, brick, pantiled roof, raised verge, 2 storeys, 2 bays. Single storey outbuilding at right angles to right of frontage, brick, triple-Roman tile roof with hip at outer end; further single-storeyed outbuilding attached to the rear of the farmhouse by a short section of brick wall with a throughway, coped verges, pantiles. Rear elevation of the farmhouse with a gabled stair-turret. Interior with features of interest including panelling and high quality plasterwork to left ground floor room; hall with good staircase with turned balusters, ornamental plaster ceiling.
