KEMBLE A429 ST 99 NE (east side) 7/39 Two adjoining barns at Clayfurlc Farm GV II Two adjoining barns. Probably mid/late C18 to east, early C19 to west. Coursed rubble stone with quoins to cart entries, stone slate roof. Each barn has central projecting gabled cart entry on south side with large timber lintel, and flanking slit vents.
Older barn to right of 5 bays, collar and tie beam trusses with 2 trenched purlins. Timber lintel at wall plane at back of gabled entry. Opposed cart entry blocked in. Blocked pitch hole to east.
Left hand barn of 6 bays, also collar and tie beam trusses with 2 trenched purlins. Cambered arch at wall plane at back of gabled entry has central brick section and stone keystone. Opposed gabled entry blocked off on inside. North side has C20 lean-to across most of both barns, stone slate roofed lean-to to west corner of newer barn.
