Inn, now houses. C16 timber frame inn extended C17, altered in early C19 and early C20. Street front is roughcast on stucco plinth with steep old tile roof. L plan group with long leg back from street behind S bay. 2 storeys. Broad coach entrance with quadrant corners and exposed ceiling beams, higher at rear. 3, Ground floor, early C19 triple-hung sash windows and 4 1st floor early C20 triple casements. Fluted early C20 Tuscan doorcase towards N. Rear elevation has 2, early C17, gable ends with 4/4 horizontal sash windows. An extension on N has a C16 central, red brick, gabled part with external chimneystack flanked by narrow lights. This continues W in tall, C16-19 brick boundary wall. The S range (Nos 2 and 6) has modern exterior over timber frame. Interior: No 1 has re-used C16-17 oak panelling in front room. No 4 has good, early C17 stair well with C18 barleytwist balustrading.
