6/58 Entrance doorway and wall to left of Lecture Hall

GV II

Wall with doorway, at back of pavement. Probably C18. Squared coursed lime- stone with ashlar dressings. About 3.5 m length of wall rising to stone coping at c.3 m but with swept down section to right, moulded flat pyramidal capping at about mid point. At left end a plank door giving to small courtyard to the Meeting House (not included), in pilaster surround to flat elliptical head with projecting keystone. The item adjoins an entrance to Dewes House (qv), is in detail similar to that, but separatley constructed. It is important to the continuity of the street.
