SHIPTON-UNDER-WYCHWOOD STATION ROAD SP 2618-2718 6/102 St Mary's Primary School 21.8.86 GV II

Church School. 1854 by G E Street, Diocesan architect. Coursed rubble, concrete tile roof. Solid Gothic style with acutely pointed gables (BOE). Rectangular plan with various extensions to left and right. The central feature is a stepped wall stack flanked by arcades okf 6 and 3 lancets (cusped arch heads). Arched doorway to left in lean-to continued as lower single storey extension with catslide roof, pointed trefoil head windows in gable end. Set back low extension to right with Tudor arch doorway, linked to T-plan school room dated 1887, very large window in gable.
